#10 – Zine El Abidine Ben Ali – President of Tunisia (former)
Zine El Abidine Ben Ali was ruled the country of Tunisia for over 20 years, exactly 23 years. His tenure over Tunis was from 1987 to 2011. Tunisian people couldn’t stand anymore Zine being on the position of the Tunisian president for 23 years, so they organized massive protests.
During the protests, Zine ran to Saudi Arabia together with his wife and three of their children. However, Tunisian government had sent a request to the Interpol to issue an International arrest warrant for Zine El Abidine. He was charged with drug trafficking, money laundering, and high treason together with his wife. However, Saudi Arabia didn’t yet extradite Zine and his wife to Tunisian court.
